3 Simple Homemade Lemonade Recipes

Summer is about to end and the kids are going back to distant learning in two weeks. We asked what they wanted to do and they wanted to make some lemonade. So, we picked a basketful of lemons from our lemon tree and started squeezing some lemons.

We came up with three simple lemonade recipes you can make at home. First thing, is to make the simple syrup for the lemonade – water and sugar/honey (we like to add honey in ours).

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Sugar or 1/2 Cup Sugar and 1/2 Cup Honey

In a small saucepan, combine water and sugar (or sugar and honey). Bring to a simmer and stir until sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and put aside.

Squeezing Lemons …

Squeeze your lemons in a bowl or 4-cup Pyrex measuring cup. Put a strainer over your pitcher and pour juice to separate seeds and pulp. You will need about 8 medium lemons or 6 large lemons to make 1 cup of lemon juice.

  • 1 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice (strained)
  • Add “Simple Syrup” Recipe From Above (1 Cup)
  • 4 Cups of Water

  • 1 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice (strained)
  • 1 Can (8.4 Oz.) Dole 100% Pineapple Juice
  • Half of “Simple Syrup” Recipe From Above (1/2 Cup)
  • 4 Cups of Water

  • 1 3/4 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice (strained)
  • 8 Oz. Raspberries
  • “Simple Syrup” Recipe From Above (1 Cup)
  • 4 Cups of Water

– Combine the raspberries and 1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice in a blender. Puree until smooth.

– Pour the raspberry mixture through a strainer over a pitcher. Use a spoon to press against the strainer, so that the juice can force itself through.

– Add the remaining lemon juice, simple syrup and water.

Stir and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving. Pour over ice and garnish with lemon wedges or mint. Depending on your taste, you may dilute with more or less water. We hope you enjoy these refreshing homemade lemonade recipes!
